What Causes Stomach Pain, Diarrhea And Fever While Having Hydronephrosis?
Hi! My son is 3years 8 months old. He is having a magical condition of Hydronephrosis from his birth. But right now, He is complaining stomach pain from yesterday night. His body temperature reaches 99° to 101° from last mid night and he is suffering from loose motions too, till now 8-10 loose motions. I gave him call 250 mg 4 ml sos and sporlac powder (one sachet is equal to 4×1gm doses) dissolved in water in the morning. Now he is feeling little better but not much. What should I do now? Should I give him one more sachet of sporlac?
You must keep your child hydrated by giving oral re-hydration solutions available over the counter. The most likely cause of diarrhea and fever is viral gastritis. The symptoms will resolve in a day, or two as viral gastritis is self-limiting. I would suggest you keep your child hydrated, and give fever medication like Tylenol that is safe to use in gastritis. In addition, another Sporlac sachet is not needed as of now. If the symptoms persist beyond 3 days, and/ or worse you must visit a doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
