What Causes Stomach Pain, Lack Of Appetite And Red Spots Throughout Body?

My brother had open heart surgery last summer to replace his aortic valve. Then in December, he had a pace-maker/defibrillator put in his chest. He is on warfarin/coumadin (sp) blood thinners. He is C/O pain in his stomach, hasn t eaten very good for 2-3 days, and is covered in red blood dots all over his body. What is going on?

Hello there. Noted the contents. Since when is he on warfarin? Was it started recently? Pain in the stomach with loss of appetite indicates that he has gastritis. The black spots in the blood could be a result of over thinning of the blood. It can also happen due to a change in thrombocyte levels due to long term use of warfarin. When is the last time his INR was checked? Does he have dark stools? Please reply so I can help you better. Wishing him health. take care.
