Hi.
With the proper AKT 4 the fluid may be regressing but is not evident so soon. By what criteria you/ one can say it is not regressing?
Secondly How was the diagnosis made?
If there is no response to the treatment other possibility of associated medical condition like anemia, hypoproteinemia and cancer has to be ruled out.
Some cases do get a resistant problem , where a short course of steroids under the supervision of a Doctor can help.
Rifampicin in AKT 4 may have to be changed with Injection Streptomycin.
A liver protecting preparation s also needed.
Request the Doctor to review the case or take a second opinion of another Doctor and to adjust the doses as per weight of the patient.
To repeat rule-out MDR= Multi-Drug Resistant TB and / or cancer.
