What Causes Stomach Pain While Taking Calvepen 666mg Before Meals?

I ve been prescribed Calvepen 666mg for an infected Throat. I ve taken them for just 1 day. The course is for 7 days. I was advised by the pharmacist to take them before food but I am having horrible stomach pains. I am also taking Nurofen and Panadol for pain. What can I do to lessen the stomach pains? I m afraid to take the Calvepen. I am 40 years old, 5ft 3 tall and weigh 60 kilograms.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Stomach pain is a side effect of NSAID as it is Nurofen. You should stop taking Nurofen. Continue taking Calvepen. In case your stomach pain is persistent then it is recommended taking Omeprazole.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Julinda Maksuti, General Surgeon .
