HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Menstruation can be associated with a wide range of physical and emotional symptoms.

Premenstrual syndrome refers to this range of issues that can occur before the onset of a period.
Your symptoms of vomiting, restlessness, problems with sleeping on one side would come under premenstrual syndrome.

The use of the oral contraceptive pill should help to relieve some of these so you can continue to use it.

IN some persons the use of SSRI is also helpful. These were originally used only for depression but have been found to be useful in other conditions in persons who are not depressed.

I hope this helps

Hi, thanks for posting the concern in HCM.

My understanding is, you may have been suffering from irritable bowel syndrome or functional bowel disorders. However, other possible causes should be excluded before specifying this diagnosis.

These are- peptic ulcer disease, non-ulcer dyspepsia, malabsorption syndrome, colitis or enteritis, giardiasis etc.

You should consult your local gastroenterologist to get clinically examined and evaluated further.

You also need a set of tests to get specific diagnosis -
Complete blood count, urea, creatinine, electrolytes, LFT
Stool for routine examination and OBT
Barium meal xray

Now, regarding your current treatment with prolonged PPI, I would say your doctor might have prescribed this for peptic ulcer disease, non-ulcer dyspepsia or functional bowel disorders. But, I don't prefer prolonged suppression of stomach acid without very strong supporting reasons. Rather you may follow the below mentioned advice till the availability of investigation reports.
1. Tab Colospa Retard one tab once daily for one month
2. Enterogermina oral suspension one such twice daily for one month
3. Ispagulah husk two tsf in a cup of water at bedtime.
4. Small amount frequent high fibre diet and plenty of oral fluid.
Please write back to me directly for any other questions.
Regards
