What Causes Stomach Upset After Taking Prednisone Along With Magnesium And B Complex?

My husband suffered a work related concussion 10 weeks ago. He had a nerve block last week with no results. Therefore, chronic headaches for 10 weeks. He has now started Prednisone and started to take the following vitamins: magnesium, Bcomplex with B12, fish oil and zinc. I came home from an appt and he tells me has an upset stomach. He did take the pills right before we had breakfast. He was told to take with food. I was looking up if the vitamins caused the upset stomach.

Hi,

Prednisone can cause abdominal distention; ulcerative esophagitis; nausea; vomiting; peptic ulcer etc. B-complex with B12, zinc are unlikely agents. Fish oil may unpleasant taste. Magnesium Oxide, Magnesium Sulfate, Magnesium Citrate-all have a laxative effect.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
