What Causes Stomachache Along With Lower Back And Thigh Pain?

I have had burning stomach pains off & on for a week now and for the last few days I have had lower back pains too plus crampy pains in my thighs. I had a bad kidney stone that had to be removed by surgery 5 years ago so wonder if I could have another one now too. My urine also has a foul smell. thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The stomach pain can be related to gastritis which is an inflammation of the stomach lining. I suggest taking antacids such as Maalox. The lower back pain can be related to a kidney stone or to a urinary tract infection.

We can think of a urinary tract infection based on the foul smell of urine. I suggest taking Buscopan for the pain three times a day.

I also suggest taking a cranberry supplement for the urinary tract infection. If the symptoms continue I suggest taking antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
