Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Stomachache, Numbness In The Arms And Legs And Fever?
I have been vomiting for 2 1/2 months. Usually at least 16 days out of the month. I have lost 30 lbs. I have upper back pain and terrible stomach pains. I have a loss of appetite. My left arm and leg feel numb sometimes and feel heavy. They have ruled out hyperthyroidism. What would you look for next.
As there is substantial loss of weight with numbness in arms and legs, that indicate now the extent of vomiting involves electrolyte disturbances of potassium causing hypokalemia most likely.
Focus must be obtained over the intestine cause of vomiting and its secondary sequence as can be from stomach or duodenal ulcer, underlying carcinoma intestine or else.
Priority would include basic lab tests with complete blood counts and upper GI endoscopy with CT scan of abdomen and pelvis for best possible evaluation and further management guidelines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
