What Causes Stoppage In Periods?

i,m sowmya. I had an abortion on feb 7th 2010. My age is 24. I didnt get my period this month. I had sex with my husband with protection only. I even checked out whether I,m pregnant or not, using Velocit kit. Igot it negative. What to do to get my period? please help me out

Hello dear
Understand your concern
Again do pregnancy test, 10 days after missed period. Best confirmation of pregnancy is done by Blood HCG/USG scan.
Other cause of stoppage in period are below: stress, excessive weight gain/loss, change in life style and dietary habit, PCOS/ovarian dysfunction, adenomyosis, high prolactin, thyroid disorder, hormonal imbalance etc.
Consult the gynecologist if period will not come and do the following tests to diagnose above cause: full hormone profile, endometrial biopsy, USG scan, ovarian follicle study, hysteroscopy.
If pregnancy is rule out or negative you can use medroxyprogesterone injection to induce bleeding
