What Causes Strange And Weird Behaviour In A Depression Patient?

My son had a diagnosis of Anxiety/Depression and he thought he might be Bipolar and to be honest I thought so to because of his Highs and Lows... anyways, he has been on medication since he was 15 and lately he hasn t been taking it steadily and Im remembering now what type of behaviours he had... just strange little things right now but he will likely get angry too eventually... yesterday his friends dropped him off at home and he didn t have his shoes on and instead of putting on another pair he started walking over to his friends house with no shoes on to go pick up his shoes...

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Suggestive of bipolar disorder (manic depressive psychosis). I would advise him to be seen by a psychiatrist for proper evaluation and treatment which may involve use of valproic acid or olanzapine.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
