What Causes Strange Odor In Bleeding After Stopping Mini Pill?

Hi. I stopped taking the mini pill a few days into my period. I have now been bleeding for about 10 days. This didnt concern me, as I bleed heavy and twice per months when i first started microlut. However today i had a very bad strange odour to my discharge which was a mixture of mucous and light bleeding. Should i wait for my hormones to settle or should i get a swab regarding this smell? I only have one sexual partner, my husand, and we havent had sex since my period started. Thank you.
