What Causes Strengthlessness In The Legs?

hi,my 22 month old son who is normally very lively seem suddenly to have lost the strength in his legs to walk or climb normally. He does not seem to be in any pain but I am getting a little worried about it. Any advice would be appreciated as to what it might be and what we can do about it.
