What Causes Stringy Saliva On Tongue Along With Soreness?
Why do I feel a stringy-like thing on the right and left side under my tounge? And I ve always had these under my tounge, the one on the right side of my tounge is a bit sore, and I don t know why, probably because ever sense it got sore, I keep messing with it with the tip of my tounge. Is this something that should be removed, or does it have something to do with a saliva gland??
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain feeling stringy like thing under the tongue that you feel with the tip of the tongue does not need to be some thing pathological and can be due to causes like feeling of the duct of salivary glands that are present at the floor of mouth while can also be superficial tortuous veins.. It might get sore due to continuous irritation implicated to it by the tongue tip or it can be due to inflammation in the area caused by any hot and hard foods... I would suggest you to however consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can do a clinical examination and look for the exact cause for the stringy thing.. As of now to relieve soreness you can apply numbing gel over the sore area, suck ice pops and also avoid hard and hot foods.. Drink plenty of cool water..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
