What Causes Strong Back Pain In 24 Week Pregnant Women?

Im 24 weeks pregnant with my first child and 2 nights in a row ive experienced strong back pain in the right side of my lower back spreading to the middle of my stomach. Its agony and is making me feel physically sick! I cant sleep and im extremely adjatated. Ive tried sleeping differently in all positions but nothing is easing it. Im in bad pain as i write this. Is there any immediate cause for concern? Any advice or help would be appreciated greatly!

Hi, thanks for writing..
Please consult your doctor at the earliest.. This could be preterm labour.. It is associated with severe back pain radiating to back and stomach.. If the cervix is dilatind, a tocolytic with cervical encirclage will help.. The baby is too small to survive outside uterus.. You might require complete bed rest..If the pain is due to orthopaedic cause, local application of pain killer will help.. Hope I have answered your query.. Good day
