What Causes Strong Pulse In Mouth?

My 4 year old just told me that she can feel pounding in her mouth. I put my index finger on the roof of her mouth and could feel a pretty strong pulse. I checked mine and my other child's and could not feel either of those. Is this something that I should be concerned about?
