What Causes Strong Smelling Urine After Having Breast Reduction Surgery?
I ve been dealing with my urine smelling funny. Not an aweful smell but different for a year now. It doesn t smell like old urine or an infection almost like yeast. I went to the gyno and got tested,I m fine. I went to my internal medicine doctor he said it was concentrated but fine. I ve suffered back pain for 10 years now and decided to get a breast reduction March 2014. I had a lot of complications but it ended up ok. Since then is when I noticed it after the surgery. I had antibiotics for about 3 months after from infections I got in the wound. I am losing my mind as to what it is. Mu underwear will smell like it but no discharge either....
If an infection is ruled out, we need not worry. Urine smell may change with our diet and hydration status. Just keep hydration enough, and avoid holding bladder too long. In children we also consider some metabolic disorders, but that may not be applicable here.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
