What Causes Strong Urges To Do Something Fatal And Injure Oneself?

I have had strong urges or a feeling comes over me to do or not to do something/ When both my parents died, I had a strong feeling that I needed to see them that day, and then unknowingly they died later that day. I have had strong feelings not to do something or might hurt myself, and when I don t listen to those feeling I have cut myself, fallen of ladders, etc. Does this mean anything and if so, what is this called.

I think, you are in depression and that is why, you have self harming thoughts. You need antidepressant like paroxetine or escitalopram that would help you to control these thoughts. Better to consult a psychiatrist for proper management and that would help to control these symptoms. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
