What Causes Stuffy Nose And Difficulty In Breathing?

for years, ive had this problem that comes and goes where it sounds and feels like my nose is stuffed up and i;m breathing out through my nose to try and clear a passageway but when ive been checked , dr s say i dont have a deviated septum and everything appears normal. one dr suggested i might just have some sort of nervous tick . it really bothers me..it feels like i m stuffed up...not in my nose but almost behind it or necxt to it..., above my cheeks,, its also embarrassing when people ask me why i m making these noises...any thoughts?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
This is a good question.
The feeling of stuffy nose, needing to feel to clean the nose making typical noises in spite of a normal ENT examination indicates that you need to be investigated and treated at other levels.

This is called vasomotor rhinitis.
There are two types of treatment done for this.
Medical in the form of anti-anxiety and anti-depressants
Surgical in the form of Neurectomy.
Both give good results.
