Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Stuffy Nose, Sneezing, Sinus Pressure, Headache And Cough?
I get a similar cold every September - I call it the welcome back to school cold as I m a teacher. Symptoms include stuffy nose, sneezing, sinus pressure causing headaches, sometime a runny nose, coughing that is the result of a tickle in the back of the throat I think, but I cough until I gag and produce very little. I take the Pseudoepinephrine stuff from behind the Rx counter and it keeps my head clear most of the day. Not helping with the coughing though. It s embarrassing to cough so hard you gag or nearly pee your pants! Please advise.
These symptoms may be caused by the house dust mites or mold allergy. September or fall is the season that these allergens are in a higher concentration so the symptoms appear or become more severe. I would suggest to do an allergy test and then if it is positive to any allergen to take the proper treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
