What Causes Sudden Abdominal Pain And Nausea Long After Removal Of Gall Bladder?

I had my gall bladder removed in 2008 and have had little problems since. It was a sudden and severe attack that indicated smalll stones and othroscoptic surgery to remove the bladder. Have been taking digestive enzymes and daily supplements only no prescribed meds. This morning I suddenly had severe pain in upper abnomen, sweating and nausea..with a need vomit but had nothing in stomach to vomit. Was also dizzy and light headed. Only relief was in reclining...sitting is ok...but standing still brings on weakness. Only drank some almond milk this morning and have no appetitie. Did take a digessive enzyme. Ate nothing unusual yesterday..and had only a little indestion last night and took one tums before bed. Pain in abdomen is subsiding...but feel nauseous and light headed...

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite common and after cholecystectomy and will settle by itself, As of now, you can take over the available antacids-antiemetic combination like pantoprazole-domperidone for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
