What Causes Sudden Breathlessness And Unusual Taste In The Mouth?

I was just sitting and reading and all of a sudden I started having shortness of breath, a weird taste in my mouth and I started to feel like I was going to pass out. Then my hands and arms got pin and needles and cold and my neck was burning hot like it was on fire radiating to my head. I sat with my head between my knee s until my breathing returned to normal. It took me 5 minutes to feel better. I have never had this happen to me before. Is there anything I need to be concerned with?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Dear. Im not sure about your age. But if you are above 25 years of age, get an ECG done by going to a physician. This is to rule out anginal pain, because it can mimic the way you described. If the ECG is normal and the physician feels you are perfectly ok, then probably you might have had a panic attack. You need to learn ways to combat panic attacks in future by consulting a psychologist.

Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you.
All the best
With warm regards
