What Causes Sudden Dark Discoloration Of The Skin?
I was very fair a few years back...when I got moved from my home town to another city on education purpose I became completely dark??? And even though I moved back to my home town I wasn t unable to regain my natural complexion.....why did this happen??? Is it because the change in water I use?? Is there any way I can regain my fair complexion???
There are many causes of hyperpigmentation as follows: 1) Overexposure to sun causes hyperpigmentation or sunburns 2) Melasma 3) Hyperpigmentation due to various drugs 4) Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation that occurs after pityriasis rosea 5) Hyperpigmentation due to infrared rays 6) Hyperpigmented spots occur in various liver diseases
Though the list doesn’t end, most important causes are the above. Various treatment options include: 1) Hydroquinone ointment 2) Kojic acid 3) Tretinoin 4) Niacin and vitamin C and E
Treatment depends upon the underlying cause and the extent of hyperpigmentation. It is to be decided by a dermatologist after physical examination. Kindly see a dermatologist for appropriate treatment advice. Sunscreen lotion is recommended for regular use.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
