What Causes Sudden Dark Vaginal Bleeding While On Naproxen?

I fell down steps last night, sprained my ankle and got bruised up pretty bad. I started vaginally bleeding (darker blood) today and my period was about a week and a half ago and I have never been irregular. When I started my period the last time, I started birth control pills for 4 days and then stopped when I realized I had no sexual desire anymore. Why am I bleeding today? I just got done at the hospital a couple hours ago. Also they gave me 500 mg naproxen and wondered if that could hurt my stomach or damage elsewhere more? (I started bleeding before I took this) Do I need to go to a dr again?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The discontinuation of the pills would cause withdrawal bleeding to occur.

In terms of the naproxen, the main risk of short term use is irritation of the stomach lining (gastritis).
Once it is used with a full stomach, this risk decreases.

If you use the naproxen with a meal, it should be okay.

I hope this helps
