What Causes Sudden Development Of Dark Painful Bruises On Legs?

My 23 year old daughter woke up with multiple bruises on her legs. They are red and brown in color and are so abundant the they almost appear to be a leopard print. The are also slightly painful. Her primary doctor took blood but has not gotten back to us and said he has never seen anything like this. Being that this all occurred overnight we are concerned.

There could be bleeding disorder. Get her bleeding time, PT, aPTT, INR tests done. Avoid trauma. Apt ice and keep limb elevated.
