What Causes Sudden Dizziness And Excess Sweating?

Driving home from chuch, my husband (almost 72) experienced sudden faintness with a great deal of sweating. He pulled over right away and I drove. His doctor had previously diagnosed suspected vasovagal. My husband had not eaten this morning, and felt better after he ate. The severe sweating worries me. Does this sound like vasovagal to you?
