What Causes Sudden Dizziness And Loss Of Vision?

Hi, I was in the shower and I suddenly started feeling really dizzy, I was seriously swaying on my feet. My vision went almost completely dark and I think I nearly passed out. Also, I wasn t taking a hot shower but it was just warm enough that it wasn t cold. I can t figure out why though.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I think you had a vasovagal syncope. This happens due to the blood being pulled in the legs when we stand for a while and not move. As a result, the blood pressure may fall and cause patients to feel dizzy, have vision changes and even blackout.

You do not need to worry at the moment. If you start to have these episodes more often of you notice other symptoms, please see your doctor.

I hope I have answered your query and have been helpful to you.

I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj
