Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sudden Dizziness And Sweating In An Elderly Person?
Hello. My friend 65 years of age all of a sudden felt dizzy and began sweating. It happened very quickly and then within 5 minutes he started vomiting. We have eaten the same food I m OK. He has no know illnesses. However, we did drink a bit too much yesterday and he stated he felt hung over earlier this morning.
I really appreciate your concern for your friend. Dizziness and sudden onset sweating is matter of concern at his age and it warrants detailed evaluation. It might be related to drink induced gastritis or high blood pressure and disturbed blood sugar level. In my opinion give him anti acidity medicine like ranitidine or pantoprazole with antacids and promethazine for dizziness.
If it doesn't improve then take him to the emergency care for physical examination, recording of blood pressure, and blood sugar investigation.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to ask for follow up question, I will gladly answer you.
Regards, Dr. B R Hudda
