I have been having occurrences since January 10, 2018. I suddenly feel dizzy, like I may faint or worse, and sometimes my vision is worse. The bad feeling lasts for a minute or two. This has happened every few days or so, but happened 5 times yesterday. My primary just referred me to have a hearing test. My optometrist said she really thinks I need to see a neurologist. I would appreciate hearing your opinion. Thank you. I am female, age 60, nonsmoking, non drinking.
It can be transient ischemia of retina. Postural hyperventilation is to be done and if error is detected it should be corrected.
Fundus examination is to be done and disc and fovea or foveal reflex is to be examined. General examination is to be done by physician, IOT is to be measured for glaucoma to be excluded.
If glaucoma then drop like tenalol and tabletdiamox and surgery trabiculectomy can be considered. Field tracing should be done if endocrinologist should be consulted and thyroid problem excluded it can be thyroiditisif there is neurological problem then EEG can be done and neurologist consulted/consult ophthalmologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
