Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday as I was getting out of my truck I felt dizzy and weak and had to set down on the floor. After setting there for awhile I was able to get into a chair. As I set there, I felt better. My friend brought me home and I spent the rest of the night resting, although I still felt a bit woozy. I got up and was able to go to church this morning, but still felt a bit woozy. I feel pretty good right now. I m 68 yrs. and have never experienced this kind of thing. Can this have been dehydration, I urinate a lot; I m diabetic.
Hello dear, welcome to'Ask a doctor' service. I read your question and here is my advice. I think you experienced an ortostatic hypotension episode. If these symptoms happen only occasionally, there's likely no cause for concern. Occasional (acute) orthostatic hypotension is usually caused by something obvious, such as dehydration or lengthy bed rest, and is easily treated. Chronic orthostatic hypotension is usually a sign of another health problem, so treatment varies. You don't need treatment and dehydration and diabetes are the causes. Take care.
Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best regards.
