What Causes Sudden Episodes Of Fainting When Diagnosed With Parkinson S Disease?
My mom is I ll may have Parkinson s she has tremor, however Parkinson s symptoms does not include her body just going limp all of a sudden. She will be sitting on her bed talking and all of a sudden just falls over like fainting. Family is thinking mom has been misdiagnosed and has another type of illness, Is this possible?
As fainting is uncommon in Parkinson disease. As the two major symptoms of Parkinson's are - tremor and rigidity. Since she is fainting all of sudden it could be postural hypotension.
I will advise to get help from the cardiologist for the heart scan and also a neurologist for the brain scan.
If Parkinson is diagnosed and no postural hypotension then dopamine should be the one to help your mother for controlling the symptoms. And if cardiac pathology is found than medicines based on it will be assigned.
Doing Physiotherapy guided exercises have provided a significant improvement in people diagnosed with postural hypotension as well as Parkinson disease.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
