What Causes Sudden Fainting Spell?

I fell down suddenly for a minute, but my brain thought that I was walking. I woke up, called my doctor; i was suggested to go to the hospital; They checked my brain, heart, but they could not find anything wrong; I was wondering what was wrong with my body?
