What Causes Sudden Fatigue, Tinnitus And Blurred Vision In The Elderly?

Hello, I m a healthy and active 60-year-old man. About two weeks ago, I had a sudden onset of strange symptoms: extreme fatigue, headache, ringing in the ears, slightly blurry vision, and frequent urination. The urination problem is nothing new, as I ve had prostate issues for years (a biopsy revealed no cancer). Some of these symptoms mirror diabetes, and that scares me. But there is no diabetes in my family history. I m 5-10 and 200 pounds. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. -- Bill

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, though it's not harmful if you can get baseline fasting sugar levels done to rule out any possibility of diabetes.

However, with these symptoms you should get a neurologist opinion and if needed CT brain as the sensations you are experiencing with urinary symptoms needs evaluation for any signs of raised intracranial pressure.

A repeat PSA level and a urinalysis may be done to look for any signs of prostate recurrence or urosepsis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
