What Causes Sudden Feeling Of Sore Throat And Fever With Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia?

Saturday afternoon, after being fine all day, I suddenly got a sore throat and had fevers and chills most of the night. During the night, I had sever episodes of sweating. I have Chronic Lymphacytic Luekemia, could this be related and if it persists much longer, do I need to see my oncologist?

Hematologist 's  Response
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
It is due to upper respiratory tract infection. It is not directly related to chronic lymphocytic leukemia. However in chronic lymphocytic leukemia your immunity is decreased and chances of infection are high. You should take treatment of sore throat. Antibiotics like azithromycine with antihistaminic drugs are useful. It is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have chronic lymphocytic leukemia. So there is immuno deficiency state and infection is common due to low immunity. Your sore throat and fever is due to upper respiratory tract infection. You should take antibiotics like azithromycin. For fever you can take paracetamol. Consult your routine doctor and take treatment accordingly. No need to consult oncologist for that.
