What Causes Sudden Gasping Of Breath,dizziness And Headache?

I woke up suddenly gasping for breath. it made me dash to the bathroom as the only way I thought I was going to be able to breath properly was to vomit as my airways felt blocked. I did not vomit but suddenly I got a breath from somewhere went very light headed as if I was to faint. when this happened I felt like I could not breath threw my mouth or nose.i have had headache and a sore throat since this happened.
