What Causes Sudden Headaches And Intermittent Fever In A Child?

My four year old daughter, for the past 8 months approx. has been getting severe sudden headaches and unexplained fevers off and on. The Drs keeps telling us it s a virus she fighting, and giving her antibiotics. I don t understand why they keep reoccurring and what else I need to do. She also has had thrush a few times this past year.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of sudden headaches and intermittent fever which could be due to bacterial/ viral infection and due to underlying medical condition. I would suggest you to take combination of Ibuprofen and Tylenol as it is safe combination and you can take that for your present condition. Don't combine any medication like Aspirin, Naproxen with this combination at-least 8-12 hours of each other as it will cause GI bleed symptoms and ulceration. As fever is of high grade at times so you should do tepid sponging as well. Take diet rich in multivitamins, fruits and take multivitamin tablet as well to boost body immunity. Drink plenty of water to rehydrate yourself.
