What Causes Sudden Heavy Menstrual Bleeding During Last Day Of Period?
Hello. Today should have been the last day of my period. I was spotting yesterday and clean this morning. Luckily, I chose to wear a pad today, which was clean all morning. About mid afternoon, I was sitting at my desk, and suddenly felt another flow coming through. Sure enough, I started bleeding again. This is the first time it s ever happened. I m 45 years old and this is the fifth day of this period. They normally last about 4-6 days. Should I be concerned about this second gush ? Thank you in advance.
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Heavy flowduring menstruation, after it has almost finished, can be normal or can be due to dysfunctional uterine bleeding. I will suggest you to observe your menstruation pattern for next2-3 cycles, if it's same as this, then you should consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated including ultrasound and endometrial biopsy, if required, and get appropriate treatment. Hope you found the answer helpful. Dr Deepti Verma
