What Causes Sudden Increase In The Cholesterol Level?

On 07/09/16 my overall cholesterol was at 176 with hdl of 62 (cool/hdl @2.8). on 09/07/16 the overall had increased to 222 with an cdl value of 67 (Chol/hdl @ 3.3). There was no noticeable change in diet or lifestyle. I am male 74yrs old retired play golf twice (one round walking) and I go the gym typically 3 times a week. I am 5ft11ins tall and weigh 204lbs. Should I be worried about this large increase in 2months?

Hello,

I think this increase is caused mainly by diet. You may need to keep a low-fat diet with fewer diary products and red meat.
Eat more fiber-rich food, fruits and vegetables. Use grapefruit juice to lower the cholesterol and triglycerides levels.
If still not stabilized you may need medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
