What Causes Sudden Loss Of Weight In An Elderly Person?

My aging sister 81 reports that all her fat has fallen. In past couple of weeks it is as if her fat in upper body has settled. She is morbidly obese and has a host of medical problems. her sons agree her body is changing shape. What alarms are you hearing.

Please rule out diabetes. Malignancy in the elderly is another common problem. If there is something in the family then you could look in those lines. If else, please do a routine physical after an examination by a family physician. It will point to something for sure.
