What Causes Sudden Massive Heart Attack In An Otherwise Fit Person?

my mother passed away.she appeared to have a sudden heart attack.she was a diabetic.her last result indicated that her fasting number and after not much of a difference.she was also complaining of a stomach ache a week or so earlier.they say it was a sudden massive heart attack.her numbers wer in the 230 range.was it a heart attack or did her diabetes contribute.she was 76 and appeared to be fit .

Your mother is having multiple risk factors...like old age,uncontrolled Diabetes mellitus..Sometimes chest pain may even radiate to stomach and present as stomach pain.Sudden massive heart attacks are more common with people having elevated blood sugars with chance of maximum life risk.An ECG or 2D Echo and hs Crp would have been helpful if done prior to 1week.Earl stenting Or CABG would be the treatment if diagnosed earlier.
