Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Experiencing sudden onset of nausea and diarrhea plus abdominal aches and bloating about 3 hours after breakfast. Since I am celiac I had GF cheerios with soy milk (dairy allergy) as usual plus about 5 strawberries I bought yesterday (not usual). Also had tea with soy milk and sugar as usual. Had my first Prolia injection about 2 months ago. I have hypothyroidism treated with levothyroxine. Taking very small dose of hydrochlorot for hypercalcuremia (mild). It s over 100 degrees here and I don t feel like drinking water.
With regards to the nausea and vomiting I see two potential causes for this. The strawberries should have been washed well and checked for bad spots as they could have been contaminated leaving you with some mild food poisoning.
Next, you mentioned your lack of water. Dehydration can also cause your symptoms and when in high heat water may not replace all electrolytes. Try drinking Gatorade or a sports drink with allowed ingredients in addition to decaf iced teas or diluted fruit juices to maintain hydration. You need a minimum of 8-10 cups of water per day (or fluid equivalent) and caffeinated beverages are discouraged because they cause body water loss.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
