What Causes Sudden Numbness And Lump On Neck While Eating?

My son was eating out with his wife and his face all of the sudden went numb and a large lump appears on his neck. They weren t eating anything new and unusual we were think on it was a allergic reaction. But couldn t figure what from. Could it be something other than a reaction?

Appearance of sudden lump and numbness of the face can not really be correlated.
The possible reasons can be:
Transient ischemic attack causing the numbness of the face.
The sudden appearance of the lump in the neck can be due to rupture of a blood vessel in the pre-existing cyst or development of an aneurysm or spasm of a group of muscle.
Hence it is imperative to have a clinical evaluation, examination and investigations to get a correct diagnosis and get appropriate treatment.
