What Causes Sudden Occurrence Of Cough And Breathlessness?
This has been going on since I was about five years old... day... night ... does not matter..... tonight it scared me as I was driving.... Started coughing and gasping for air... pulled over to the side of the road two separate times before I could fully get my breath. It causes the muscles in my breasts and back to hurt and feels like the area is on fire as well. My doctor seems to ignore it if not able to see it happening.
Sudden onset breathlessness and cough could be related to any of following Acute bronchial asthma allergic reaction a heart problem COPD Anaemia
please visit a pulmonologist for pulmonary function test X ray chest and lab investigation like hemoglobin CBC AEC and ESR
in my opinion you should ask your doctor for an MDI inhaler and keep it all the time with you so that you can take a puff during such circumstances
meanwhile do deep breathing exercises Hope this addresses your question of you can upload your complete medical history I will be able to help you better wishing you good health Regards DrBR Hudda
