Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi - I have had recent bouts of stuttering pretty badly - for up to 15-20 or more seconds. This is new and has never been a factor previously. My throat feels slightly swollen but there appears to be nothing wrong. I am very healthy I don t smoke, drink or eat junk food. Should I be concerned - what could this be? THANK YOU!

What Causes Sudden Onset Of Bouts Of Stuttering?
Hello, * As per my clinical experience, the sudden appearance of stuttering can be part of underlying stress or anxiety if it is of mono episode. * If it recurres during calm phase of mind then underlying cerebral insult as hypoxia, ischemia or others have to be sorted out in greater details. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
