What Causes Sudden Onset Of Pain And Itching Sensation In Hand?

I was getting in my car when I felt a pain or itch in the middle of my hand starting near the wrist and going about two inches towards Palm. I did not look at it but rubbed it on steering wheel as in an itch. But then noticed pain and blue slightly swollen area. Scared me a bit. So I took two baby aspirin. Not sure what to do
