What Causes Sudden Onset Of Pain In Hands And Fingers?

I have been having sudden onset of pain in my right hand, and mostly right pinkie finger and ring finger. The pain recently started going up my arm to my elbow. This morning I noticed pain in my upper back as well. I am normally a healthy 33 year old female. I have had an autoimmune system problem, however that was only when I was pregnant. I went to the doctor yesterday and they gave me indocin (spelling ?) and it hasn't done anything to help. They also did an x-ray and said it came back negative for arthritis. Now what do I do? The pain is getting worse.
