What Causes Sudden Onset Of Tingling Sensation In Hands?

About 3 months ago I experienced a sudden tingling in my hands (primarily my right) and mildly my left, it has now basically subsided but my right index finger is perpetually numb and now I am experiencing strong pain in my inner elbow as well which affects strength (ability to lift / use). I was wondering if there is something simple that could be causing this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You seem to have nurogenic symptoms due to inflammation or compression of nerve supplying affected area.

The site of compression can be at cervical spine, neck (due to cervical spine ) or at wrist level(carpel tunnel syndrome).

Please don't worry the cause can be pointed out by detailed physical examination with MRI, as per indication. And ghen needful specific treatment in form of medicines/injection/ physiotherapy or some times surgery.

At present..avoid the positions causing trouble.Take tab vitamin B12(nurobion)orally. Consult an orthopedic surgeon for expert advise.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
