General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Multiple laminectomy over lumbar spine may be a prime reason for nerve compression at lower lumbar or sacral spinal level and giving sudden sharp pains in hips, though avascular necrosis of femur head (bilateral ) can be of great concern as well.

In my clinic, I do recommend an urgent MRI of the hip joints for best evaluation and further guidelines to tackle the issue nice way.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
