What Causes Sudden Palpitations And Tinnitus?

I laid down to go to bed, and got up an hour or two later to use the restroom. When I sat down on the toilet, my heart started to race and my ears started to ring. I went unconscious for a moment and when I came to, my jaw was clenched, my legs were as far out as they could go, and I had my hands in my hair and pulling it. My ears were muffled and I could still hear the ringing. What happened to me?

Hello,

What you experienced was pulsatile tinnitus where there is sudden ringing in ears along with palpitations and dizziness. It can be a sign of underlying cardiac problem like high blood pressure or myocardial infarction.

It is very important get yourself assessed by a physician to diagnose your condition. He may advise you to get an EKG and depending upon the reading may also advise you to get an ECHO or angiography.
