What Causes Sudden Rashes On The Chest And Elevation In The Heart Rate?

I had a fine rash on my chest last evening. I noticed it as I was going to bed. This morning the rash was gone. I ate about five almonds and my heart started to race. I felt like I was going to pass out.I do not have any hives.I did take benadryl.Could this reaction be related to the nuts?

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that considering your symptoms an allergic reaction to almonds can not be excluded.

Have you tried almonds before?

Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician and performing allergy tests (blood and skin tests), in order to find out if you really are allergic to almonds or any other food.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
