Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sudden Red Rashes On The Chest, Face And Back Of The Neck?
My son is 37 and had a large abcess on his neck with a lump underneath the size of a walnut. It was painful and eventually drained pus. It is still draining blood and is now the size of a pea, but today he has developed a red rash on his chest which has spread to his face and back of his neck. He originally thought it was a brown recluse spider bite. Any ideas?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sudden red rashes on the chest, face and back of the neck which seems to be due to contact dermatitis, allergic reaction due to detergent, soap and could be due to an animal bite, or an insect sting. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you consult a dermatologist for proper examination. The doctor may prescribe antihistamine, corticosteroid ointment and may give adrenaline short. Apply an ice pack on red blistering lumps to reduce redness and itchiness. You should protect your skin from direct sunlight and cover it with a cotton cloth while going outside. Do not touch these rashes as it can lead to itching.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
